Funding was provided for Work Scholarships for young women attending Alice Lloyd College. A Work Scholarship is earned through service on campus. Another amount included was to fund a Caney Scholar for post graduate work.

To provide scholarships for women in science majors.

Blackburn College

To provide scholarships for women in memory of Myrtie T. Dixson with one being the Monticello College Foundation Scholarship in Leadership, and another being for a Work Program Manager.

Center for American Archeology
Kampsville, Illinois
Grant: $30,000
To fund internships and scholarships in a field archeology program entitled “Women in Archeology” for the summer 2023 program.

Cornerstone University
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Grant: $15,000
To provide scholarships to single mothers aspiring to pursue a Professional and Graduate Studies degree.

Fontbonne University

To provide scholarships for women in Computer Science or Cybersecurity majors.

To provide scholarships for women in Teacher Education.

To provide a scholarship for a young woman studying in the STEM field and support a college freshmen scholar workshop.

To provide scholarships for young women receiving dance training based on need and ability.

To provide scholarships for women awarded on the basis of merit with an emphasis on nursing. These scholarships are known as The Monticello College Foundation Scholarships in memory of Myrtie T. Dixson.

Lawrence University

To provide funding for summer research fellowships to women doing original research in biology, chemistry, geology, or physics.

Lewis and Clark Community College

Several grants were made for the 2022-23 academic year.  A $20,000 grant was made for The Monticello College Foundation Scholarships for Deserving Women and a grant of $17,500 was made to provide athletic scholarship assistance for women. A grant for $5,000 was given for the Linda Nevlin Humanities Scholarship and $5,000 for the Carol A. Kempske Scholarship for Women.

To provide “Work ships” for women students. “Workships” are the same as scholarships except they must be earned through service on campus. All assignments depend on ability and financial need.

The Foundation is proud to continue the Ann W. and Spencer T. Olin – Chancellor Fellowship at Washington University. The program is a tribute to Ann W. and Spencer T. Olin’s many years of service to Monticello. Both gave unstintingly of their time, resources and creative spirit to help Monticello achieve its goals on behalf of the higher education of women.
